EPSO has just updated its Forward planning document and it has lots of exciting and interesting information in it. We at EU Training are happy to be the 1st to summarise the developments below.
Assistant (AST3) exams soon to be launched
The first great news is that EPSO has finally confirmed two Assistant (AST3) competitions in finance and human resources:
- EPSO/AST/139/16: Finance / Human Resources (AST3)
Registration period confirmed: 15 December 2016 to 17 January 2017
New specialist exams: dates confirmed
Several exams that have recently been put on hold are now confirmed with specific exam dates.
This is great news for many specialists as they can plan their preparation accordingly.
The following specialist exams will be launched very soon:
- EPSO/AD/330/16 (AD7):
- Inspectors specialised in the nuclear energy field
- Policy officers specialised in the nuclear energy field
Registration period confirmed: 24 November 2016 to 5 January 2017
- EPSO/AD/331/16 (AD7):
- Data Analysis and IT Service
- Digital Workplace, Office Automation and Mobile Computing
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
- ICT Security
- IT Infrastructure
- IT Portfolio/Programme Management and Enterprise Architecture
Registration period confirmed: 1 December 2016 to 10 January 2017
- Lawyer-linguists for Parliament/Council channel (AD7):
- EPSO/AD/332/16: Lawyer-linguists for Spanish Parliament/Council channel (AD7)
- EPSO/AD/333/16: Lawyer-linguists for Greek Parliament/Council channel (AD7)
- EPSO/AD/334/16: Lawyer-linguists for Italian Parliament/Council channel (AD7)
- EPSO/AD/335/16: Lawyer-linguists for Lithuanian Parliament/Council channel (AD7)
- EPSO/AD/336/16: Lawyer-linguists for Maltese Parliament/Council channel (AD7)
- EPSO/AD/337/16: Lawyer-linguists for Swedish Parliament/Council channel (AD7)
Registration period confirmed: 8 December 2016 to 12 January 2017
Next stages for several competitions announced
For those EPSO competitions that are already underway and have progressed past the initial pre-selection examination stage have also seen some specific dates announced for intermediate and next stage rounds. These include:
- EPSO/AST/137/16: Linguistic Assistants (AST1) → Case Study exercise will be held on 7 December 2016, while the date of the competency-based interview is not announced yet
- EPSO/AD/322/16: Auditors (AD5/AD7) → The next round of testing has been announced for January 2017, although no specific date is specified yet
- EPSO/AD/323/16, EPSO/AD/324/16: Investigators: EU expenditure and corruption (AD7), Investigators: Customs and trade, tobacco and counterfeit goods (AD7), Investigators: Team Leaders (AD9) → The next round of testing has been updated to “not before March 2017”
- EPSO/AST/138/16: Audio-visual and Conference Technicians (AST3) → Case Study exercise will be held on 12 December 2016, while the date of the other AC exercises is not announced yet
CAST registration postponed to January 2017
The contract agent exams that are eagerly expected by hundreds of candidates around Europe have been postponed yet again.
The details of the tests are currently being discussed internally within the European Commission and it requires various internal approvals still, before being launched. It’s coming - the only question is “when”?
