The Details of the Pachtitis Competitions Are FInally Out

The details of the repeated Pachtitis competitions were finally published by EPSO and we are giving you a quick summary of what you need to know.

1. Who can apply?

Anyone who was unsuccesful  in the pre-seleciton (because they did not reach the passmark or were not invited to the assessment centre) of the following 2010 competitions:

EPSO/AD/177/10 — Administrators (AD5)
EPSO/AD/178/10 — Librarianship / Information Science Specialists
EPSO/AD/179/10 — Audiovisual Specialists

2. What is the application deadline?

You can apply starting from today and until 23 April 2013.

3. What will the pre-selection look like?

The pre-selection tests will closely model the tests of the original 2010 competitions, but there is one, favourable, change as well.

Let's see.

 - verbal, numerical and abstract reasoning will be administered in English, French, or German (whichever you selected as your second language in 2010)
 - in the AD5 competition in 2010, there was a situational judgement test which was not scored: you do not have to take this test again

4. Are there any other changes as compared to 2010?

There are no other practical differences as complared to 2010: the scoring, the assesment centre, the language requirements, and so on, will be identical.

5. How many places are available?

Since these competitions repeat those that were held in 2010, the number of places available on the reserve list will also be identical.

Here is the rundown.

EPSO/AD/177/10 — Administrators (AD5)

European Public Administration: 105
Law: 43
Economics: 39
Audit: 64
Information and Communication Technology: 72

Total: 323 (!) places

EPSO/AD/178-179/10 - Specialists

Librarianship / Information Science: 19
Audiovisual: 9

6. What are my chances of success?

We believe these competitions offer a a uniquely good chance to get an EU job for two resons.

First, the repeated AD competition is BIG: 323 places are rarely offered by EPSO.

Second, the competition will be closed and will be held exclusively for people who participated in 2010, and, of course, not everyone from 2010 will apply.

So, what are you waiting for? :)
