European Union jobs announced for graduates and senior officials 2011

The European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) has announced 320 graduate level and senior EU jobs that are to be filled via an open recruitment competition. Anyone who is a European Union citizen and has a diploma or will have it before 31 July 2011 can apply.

So-called AD5 (entry) level EU officials are sought with or without any work experience, along with AD7 (senior) level officials who must have at least 6 years of work experience to be eligible. Candidates can only apply for one of the two levels and they must choose from a sub-field as per below.

Both for AD5 and AD7 levels the following fields are available:

1. EUROPEAN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION
2. LAW
3. ECONOMICS
4. AUDIT
5. FINANCE
6. STATISTICS

The total number of available places for AD5 level is 226, whereas for AD7 there are 94 posts.

Candidates must pass pre-selection tests first: abstract, verbal and numerical reasoning tests in their main language (any of the EU 23 official languages) and situational judgement tests (SJTs) in English, French or German. The second stage is an assessment centre exam between September and December 2011.

Given that tens of thousands of candidates are expected to apply, starting to prepare as soon as possible is essential.
